   The main purpose behind the formation of the Interim Govt. was to assist India and Pakistan in the transfer of power to them from the British rule. It continued to work till 15th August 1947.

   Mohammad Hidayatullah was the Vice-President of India from

1977 to 1982.He was also the Chief  Justice of India from 1968 to 1970.He also served as  the acting President of India from 20 July 1969 to 24 August 1969.Hence,he is the only Indian who worked at all the three positions:Chief Justice of India, Vice-President and President.

    Shankar Dayal Sharma was the Vice-President of India from 1987 to 1992.He was also the President of India from 1992 to 1997.
